Job Description
Arundel Lodge is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a world where behavioral health disorders do not limit individuals from achieving meaningful lives within their communities. We strive to be a vital part of a community network that prevents behavioral health disorders and provides essential care and support to help individuals lead healthy, productive lives. Our mission focuses on improving the lives of children, adults, and families affected by mental health and substance use disorders. Rehabilitation Specialists are expected to implement the Recovery Model in all interactions with members. This approach emphasizes hope, autonomy, peer support, respect, empathy, non-stigmatizing language, empowerment, leveraging members' strengths, and fostering self-determination.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED required; a Bachelor of Arts degree from an accredited college or university in a human services field is preferred.
- At least one year of experience in the mental health or psychosocial rehabilitation field, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required.
- Must be proficient in ASL
- Prompting residents to start their day and assisting with daily activities.
- Monitoring medication and facilitating transportation.
- Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), making appointments, cleaning, cooking, and providing overall caregiving support.
- Most importantly, supporting individuals in their recovery journey from mental illness, physical illness, and substance use.
Work Expectations:
Follow agency policies, ethical standards, and recovery-based practices in all interactions.•Maintain clear, professional communication with ASL clients, peers, and supervisors.•Use professional language in both written and verbal communication.•Work independently, manage interruptions, and contribute positively to the team environment.Maintain computer proficiency and complete required trainings.
Preferred Skills & Attributes:
•Understanding of recovery-oriented mental health approaches
•Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to support individuals of diverse backgrounds
•Crisis intervention and problem-solving skills
•Fluency in ASL (required for the Deaf Program)
$18 - $18 an hour
