Ophthalmic Technician at Sight Partners – ARLINGTON, Washington

We’re currently looking for a detail-oriented, team-driven Ophthalmic Technician to join our collaborative eye care team. Whether you're experienced or new to the field, we offer hands-on training and growth opportunities for individuals with strong communication skills and a passion for patient care.

In this role, you’ll work closely with our providers to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting comprehensive eye exams and assisting with in-office procedures
• Performing diagnostic testing using advanced ophthalmic equipment
• Accurately documenting exam findings and physician notes
• Guiding patients through treatment plans and follow-up care
• Maintaining efficient patient flow in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Administering eye medications, applying dressings, and assisting with minor laser procedures

Responsibilities:

• Document physician findings, including exam details, assessments, and treatment plans
• Capture accurate patient histories and chief complaints
• Ensure patients understand care instructions and provide educational materials as needed
• Operate specialized equipment (e.g., OCT, visual field analyzers, slit lamp, phoropter, topography systems)
• Perform clinical tests such as tonometry, visual field testing, pachymetry, and color vision screening
• Assist with contact lens training and patient support
• Triage patient phone calls in accordance with clinical protocols
• Maintain and sterilize ophthalmic instruments and equipment
• Support administrative tasks, including basic coding knowledge and documentation
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive work environment

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year of experience as an ophthalmic assistant, experienced COA or COT preferred.
• Maintains appropriate education, certification, licensure, and training.
