Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Live Goods Merchandiser to fill an open position at Home Depot locations. This role is essential to ensuring that live goods, including plants, flowers, shrubs, and trees, are properly displayed, maintained, and merchandised according to company standards. The position focuses on maintaining an organized, attractive live goods section and ensuring customer satisfaction through quality care and product presentation.Key Responsibilities:Product Display & Merchandising:Arrange and maintain live goods displays to Home Depot’s standards.Set up signage, pricing, and promotional tags.Ensure seasonal items are displayed effectively, highlighting key products and promotions.Inventory & Stock Management:Monitor inventory levels and stock of live goods products.Coordinate with the store and suppliers for restocking needs.Rotate stock to ensure freshness and minimize plant loss.Quality Control & Plant Maintenance:Inspect live goods for quality, removing unhealthy or damaged items and replacing them as needed.Perform essential plant care tasks, such as watering, pruning, and cleaning.Relationship & Communication:Build strong relationships with Home Depot store management and team.Communicate stock levels, issues, and feedback to regional management.Collaborate on promotional strategies and seasonal planning.Safety & Cleanliness:Ensure safe handling and display of live goods, following all health and safety protocols.Maintain a clean and organized live goods section for an optimal shopping experience.Qualifications:Experience:Experience in retail merchandising, live goods, horticulture, or gardening is preferred.Skills:Strong knowledge of plant care and horticultural products.Ability to organize and execute merchandising strategies.Strong communication and customer service skills.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in an outdoor environment.Comfortable performing physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and standing for long periods.Other:High school diploma or equivalent; horticultural coursework is a plus.Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to visit various locations.Work Schedule:Full-time or part-time, depending on store needs.Availability for weekends, holidays, and some evenings is required.
