About This Position
Evaluate and develop/implement plan of care for infants, children and adults who have various levels of communication, cognitive and/or swallowing impairments.

Must be able to independently perform job duties and be self-driven.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is conducted in a variety of settings including, but not limited to, outpatient therapy department, schools, hospital room, long-term care unit and patient homes.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Speech Pathology
Licenses, Certifications or Registrations
Must hold Kansas Speech-Language Pathologist license and maintain licensure as required by state of Kansas. Must maintain certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Additional Desirable Qualifications
Must present a neat and professional appearance and be personable with patients and staff.
Requirements:1) Manage patient scheduling
2) Conduct initial evaluation in timely fashion
3) Develop and modify plan of care based on identified needs and established standards of care. Provide all services as per best practices and established standards of care.
4) Educate patient and family as appropriate for best care
5) Collaborate with healthcare team to provide high standard of care
6) Maintain proper patient documentation as required by the facility, KDADS and payor source
7) Maintain competence in skills required for this position and participate in continuing education courses as required by the State of Kansas and national certification.
8) Prepare an annual department budget. Ensure that department operates within established budget guidelines.
9) Comply with SCH policies and procedures, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
