Meat Specialist
Goodlettsville, TN, United States (Remote)

AREA: KENTUCKY/EVANSVILLE, IN

Essential Functions:
Responsible for making regular planned visits to our member stores serving in a liaison capacity between the store and the warehouse.
Responsible for interpreting meat department operating statements and conduct operational analysis of the department to advise managers on how to improve their operations.
Performs necessary analysis and planning to assure that the meat merchandising objectives and priorities for assigned member are met.
Developing weekly ad item and price selections.
Conduct training for department managers and personnel.
Responsible for maximizing meat retail sales and warehouse purchases for assigned stores.
Important Functions:
Assist in the development of meat case configurations, both fixtures and product layout
Assist in developing sales programs such as; seasonal meat merchandising, value added, creating handbills and developing continuity programs.
Works with others so that total job responsibilities are met in a satisfactory manner. Actions must always stress a sense of cooperation, integrity, tact and consideration with our members, superiors and co-workers.
Responsible for securing knowledge with regard to competitor's meat merchandising strategies, being able to analyze the impact and developing countering measures as required.
Accomplishes those activities necessary to keep management informed on all planning, work performed, and results achieved. All records required by management are to be complete, accurate, up-to-date and submitted on time.
Responsible for having all assigned stores participate in all warehouse programs.
Promote special selling events: truckload sales, 12 hr sales, 3 day events.
Performs other responsibilities as requested.
Qualifications:
Any combination of education, training and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Knowledge:
Understanding of retail/wholesale meat operations and merchandising; Standard English usage.
Abilities:
Be able to operate scales, wrappers, and hand jacks. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization and to senior company management. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Experience, Education and Training:
High school diploma; management experience in retail/wholesale meat operations.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to drive car to stores.
Working Environment:
Indoors, with adequate cooling, heating, and adequate lighting. Outdoors as needed.
Licensing/Certifications:
Drivers license.
