About This Position

US Digestive Health is looking for a Patient Access Specialist. The ideal candidate will be able to multitask and perform well in fast-paced environments. This position will be responsible for assisting patients, collecting and verifying medical records, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient records.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and verify medical records from patients
  • Answer patient questions regarding their health care
  • Schedule patient appointments, make calls to schedule appointments, and provide information to patients regarding treatments and results of tests
  • Maintain patient charts and medical records in a electronic medical record system (EMR)
  • Ensure the accuracy of the patient’s information by reviewing medical records on a regular basis to ensure accuracy of diagnosis, treatment plan, medications, allergies, and other related information is complete and accurate
  • Communicate with providers to obtain necessary information for patient management and treatment planning
  • Perform routine administrative tasks such as filing documents or correspondence, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills:

  • Proven experience as a patient coordinator or relevant position in a medical office or hospital preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems (EMR) preferred.
