About the Role:
The Iron Worker plays a critical role in the construction and maintenance of structural frameworks, ensuring the safe and precise assembly of steel components that form the backbone of buildings and infrastructure. This position requires expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints to accurately fabricate and install structural steel elements. The Iron Worker will be responsible for performing demolition tasks, handling heavy equipment, and utilizing various hand tools to complete projects efficiently and safely. A key outcome of this role is the successful erection and waterproofing of steel structures, contributing to the durability and stability of the final construction. Working primarily in Randleman, NC, the Iron Worker will collaborate closely with construction teams to meet project specifications and deadlines while adhering to safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Iron Worker or in a similar structural steel role.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with demolition processes and safety protocols.
- Experience operating heavy equipment and boom lifts safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of hand tools and fabrication techniques related to structural steel work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in welding or related fabrication skills.
- Experience working with stainless steel materials.
- Training or certification in waterproofing applications for steel structures.
- Previous experience in a construction environment within Randleman, NC or surrounding areas.
- OSHA safety certification or equivalent safety training.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to fabricate and install structural steel components.
- Perform demolition of existing steel structures or components as required by project scope.
- Operate heavy equipment and boom lifts safely to position and secure steel elements at various heights.
- Utilize hand tools and welding equipment to assemble, secure, and finish steel frameworks, including stainless steel elements.
- Apply waterproofing techniques to steel structures to protect against corrosion and environmental damage.
