About This Position

Position Summary and Purpose:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment, facilities, and building systems to support efficient plant operations. This role performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and general facility upkeep to minimize downtime and maintain a safe working environment.

Maintenance Technicians may work independently or collaboratively depending on experience level and may assist with equipment improvements, maintenance planning, and coordination with vendors or contractors.

Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform routine inspections, adjustments, cleaning, and preventative maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or operational issues and perform repairs as needed.
  • Assist with installation, setup, and improvement of new or existing equipment.
  • Support preventative maintenance programs and equipment reliability initiatives.
  • Facility Maintenance

  • Perform general facility maintenance including minor repairs, painting, patching walls, replacing filters, rust-proofing equipment, and basic carpentry work.
  • Maintain building systems, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure proper operation.
  • Assemble or repair furniture, fixtures, and facility components as needed.
  • Work Orders & Documentation

  • Complete maintenance work orders and document maintenance activities in the company ERP or maintenance system.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintenance practices.
  • Parts, Inventory & Vendor Coordination

  • Monitor inventory levels of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and tools.
  • Assist with ordering replacement parts and maintenance materials as needed.
  • Communicate with equipment manufacturers or vendors regarding parts, service, or technical support.
  • Pick up parts or coordinate deliveries when necessary.
  • Operations Support

  • Collaborate with production personnel to identify equipment issues and improve reliability.
  • Escort and coordinate with third-party contractors performing service or repairs.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment performance and facility operations.
  • Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all GMP, PPE, personnel safety, and food safety procedures.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment as required.
  • Handle tools, equipment, and materials safely and according to procedures.
  • Follow all company safety policies and guidelines.
  • Other Duties

  • Perform other maintenance tasks or projects as assigned.
  • Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting mindset.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
  • Basic carpentry and general repair skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Professional communication with coworkers, vendors, and service providers.
  • Basic math and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and maintenance/ERP systems.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, as well as talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Must be able to regularly use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and climb stairs. The position requires the ability to occasionally lift, push, or pull office supplies up to 50 pounds. Must be able to maintain close visual focus for detailed maintenance work.
  • Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:

  • This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm.
  • Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Electrical certification or training preferred.
