The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford is currently seeking a full-time tenure-stream assistant professor of American Politics in the Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences beginning Fall 2026.
Requirements: Ph.D. or ABD (with expected completion by August 2026) in American Politics or a closely related field with a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates. Scholarship, advising, and service activities are required. Experience teaching at the university or collegiate level is required.
Responsibilities: Applicants must be able to teach 12 credits per semester in Political Science at the undergraduate level. Candidates should be able to teach existing courses such as PS 0102 American Political Process, PS 0204 Public Policy Process, PS 0207 Congress and the Presidency, PS 1308 American Political Thought, and PS 1366 Public Policy Analysis, and have the ability to develop courses in topics such as Political Parties and Interest Groups, Political Ideologies, Campaigns and Elections, Race and Ethnicity in American Politics, Political Behavior, and in their area of specialty to serve both the History/Political Science and International Affairs majors. Preference will be shown to applicants with relevant work experience and to applicants who can contribute comparative, international, or transnational perspectives in their teaching and scholarship.
