We are seeking a Volunteer Coordinator who is passionate about community engagement and committed to supporting a strong and meaningful volunteer program. The Hospice Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination, and oversight of the hospice volunteer program. This position recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support patients, families, and hospice staff across all service areas.

Primary Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee the delivery of all hospice volunteer services.
- Recruit, interview, and onboard volunteers to support hospice programs.
- Assign volunteers to services based on program needs, skills, and interests.
- Facilitate volunteer orientation and training programs.
- Monitor and evaluate volunteer performance and provide ongoing support.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer activities, service hours, and documentation.
- Ensure volunteers follow hospice policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Plan and lead volunteer meetings, education sessions, and recognition events.
- Promote community awareness and engagement with the hospice volunteer program.
- Attend interdisciplinary team (IDG) meetings and act as liaison between volunteers and the clinical care team.
- Prepare volunteer service reports and documentation as requested by leadership.
- Participate in staff meetings and training programs as required.
- Follow infection control policies and maintain compliance with hospice standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Active BLS certification
- Completion of hospice volunteer training program required.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Previous experience coordinating volunteers or participating in volunteer programs required
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to respond appropriately to sensitive or crisis situations.
- Compassion and adaptability when working with individuals from diverse cultural, social, and religious backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records.
