Job Overview:
GrizzlyTrek is currently seeking one Environmental Coordinator to join our Valued Clients team in Mont-Laurier, Québec. This is a full-time position, ideally suited to an individual committed to environmental excellence, regulatory compliance, and safety.
Responsibilities:
Oversee environmental sampling activities and manage site environmental data.
Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations, permits, and company policies.
Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory authorities and stakeholders.
Manage environmental permits, authorizations, and site restoration plans.
Develop and implement environmental projects, including site rehabilitation initiatives.
Establish and maintain environmental management systems aligned with ISO 14001 standards.
Conduct environmental audits and track greenhouse gas emissions data.
Support health and safety initiatives and deliver environmental training programs.
Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including Indigenous communities.
Coordinate environmental service providers and participate in site inspections.
Lead environmental investigations and implement corrective and preventive action plans.
Monitor compliance, continuous improvement initiatives, and regulatory deadlines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant environmental experience, preferably in mining.
Strong knowledge of provincial, federal, and local environmental regulations.
Experience with environmental compliance, permitting, and site restoration.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in data management systems and reporting tools.
Effective communication skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience implementing ISO 14001 environmental management systems.
Familiarity with ESG frameworks and stakeholder engagement strategies.
Experience working with Indigenous communities and consultation processes.
Work Environment:
Site-based role at a mining operation near Mont-Laurier.
Combination of fieldwork and office-based responsibilities.
Exposure to outdoor conditions and industrial environments.
