Join the dynamic team at the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum as a Tour Guide! If you have a passion for history and enjoy engaging with the public, we invite you to apply!
As a Tour Guide, you will
- Conduct guided tours of the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum.
- Use dialogue and inquiry while encouraging guests to explore the Museum's exhibits.
- Advance the Museum's educational mission by developing and providing educational programs for the public.
- Utilize communication and customer service skills while sharing your enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
- Complete an Introductory Museum Training Course and study selected readings about Savannah's Civil Rights Movement.
- Be available to work weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED, and
- At least six (6) months of customer service experience; or
- Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some education in history or political science.
- Prior experience teaching and/or giving tours.
