As a Tour Guide, you will

  • Conduct guided tours of the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum.
  • Use dialogue and inquiry while encouraging guests to explore the Museum's exhibits.
  • Advance the Museum's educational mission by developing and providing educational programs for the public.
  • Utilize communication and customer service skills while sharing your enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
  • Complete an Introductory Museum Training Course and study selected readings about Savannah's Civil Rights Movement.
  • Be available to work weekends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma or GED, and
  • At least six (6) months of customer service experience; or
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some education in history or political science.
  • Prior experience teaching and/or giving tours.
