This strategic leadership role sits at the intersection of market access, pricing, and advanced analytics, driving the development of innovative contracting strategies across payer, IDN, and GPO segments for a leading ophthalmology portfolio. The position plays a critical role in shaping how value-based and traditional reimbursement agreements are structured, negotiated, and executed to maximize both patient access and net revenue performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders including account management, legal, pricing, and operations teams to ensure alignment of strategy and execution. This role requires deep analytical expertise, strong commercial judgment, and the ability to translate complex healthcare data into actionable contracting decisions. Acting as both strategist and negotiator, you will support high-impact customer engagements and influence key deal structures in a highly regulated environment. It is a high-visibility role with significant impact on portfolio performance and market access outcomes.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the development and execution of contracting strategies across assigned payer, IDN, and GPO accounts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market access goals.
  • Develop and refine traditional and value-based contracting models, including rebate structures, bid strategies, and innovative pricing agreements.
  • Build financial models, pre-deal scenarios, and analytical frameworks to support bid development, negotiation strategy, and contract performance evaluation.
  • Partner with senior leadership to prioritize RFPs, respond to bid requests, and support pricing committee approvals for contracting strategies.
  • Lead or support customer negotiations, including redline processes, ensuring alignment on contract terms and successful deal closure.
  • Create standardized analytical tools and insights to evaluate customer behavior, contract impact, and market dynamics.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, account management, operations, and brand teams to ensure seamless contract lifecycle execution.
  • Translate complex market access and payer insights into actionable strategic recommendations for internal stakeholders.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with key external customers and partners while managing complex stakeholder negotiations.
  • Coach and support internal teams on contracting strategy, analytics, and market access best practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Pharmacy, Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry with strong exposure to pricing, contracting, market access, or financial analytics.
  • Strong understanding of the US healthcare and payer landscape, including GPOs, IDNs, and specialty reimbursement dynamics.
  • Proven experience in contract strategy development, negotiation, and lifecycle management in a complex commercial environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience building financial models, scenario planning, and impact assessments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-value customer relationships and lead external negotiations.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills across legal, commercial, and operational teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear strategic recommendations and executable contracting solutions.
  • Highly collaborative, resilient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Benefits:
  • Competitive annual salary ranging from $180,400 to $300,700 USD.
  • Annual performance-based bonus eligibility.
  • Equity awards and long-term incentive opportunities.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions.
  • Paid time off, parental leave, and other family support programs.
  • Wellness initiatives, including health programs and fitness resources.
  • Flexible benefits package depending on location.
  • Inclusive and innovation-driven work environment within a leading biotech organization.
