About This Position
Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs various duties in review and processing of applications in preparation for Underwriting and processes approved applicants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
APPLICATION PROCESSING
- Review Applications for Membership, curriculum vitae, specialty questionnaires and other information for completeness and perform data entry of vital information such as training, practice experience, etc.
- Gather credentialing information, including license checks, board certification checks, malpractice court checks, etc., and request missing information/pages of the application in conjunction with the assigned Underwriter for follow up
- Send various documents for completion and correspondence including acknowledgment and information request letters, specialty questionnaires, additional applications including employee, entity, and special coverage applications, etc.
- Pend approved applicants and follow up to collect money and pending documents
- Process executed acceptance materials and monies
- Confirm accuracy of data in Member System including effective date, prior acts date, specialty, risk class, part-time, waivers, etc.
- Input special coverage, waiver codes, and standard special coverage language as instructed by the underwriter
- Act as intermediary between various departments to communicate/process new member information
- Complete acknowledgement processing
- Process rejected/withdrawn applications, and send correspondence
ENTITY AND EMPLOYEE COVERAGE PROCESSING
- Send and process applications for entity and/or employee coverage to physician applicants who require the coverage to include: input all data, attach all providers to the entity, gather various checks, review applications for completeness, and prepare emails, tasks, or information request letters indicating missing information/pages and forward to the UW for follow up
- Pend approved entities and/or employees and follow up on outstanding information and/or documents
- Work with Membership Services to ensure employee applications for existing Members/Entities are processed and the covered employee is attached to the Entity System record
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED, AA preferred
- 2 years secretarial/clerical experience in medical or insurance industry preferred; 1 year in a secretarial/clerical capacity at CAP
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, spelling and grammar
- Computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; proficiency in the use of OnBase software preferred
- Good verbal and written communication skills
