Job Description:
The primary purpose of the IT Administrator/Analyst is to monitor and analyze network security, assessing alarms and pre-empting issues. The candidate will provide support to all company employees and work closely with IT personnel to update systems and help with troubleshooting issues. From maintaining security to supervising network updates and training users, the administrator is not only IT support but also a person that connects all operations.
The IT System Administrator/Analyst is also held accountable for the completion of projects and has the responsibility of working with other team members in exploring new ideas and processes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support new security projects, daily network security monitoringMaintain Network Access Control, ensuring restrictions are in place for authorized devices.The configuration, support and administration of firewall environments in line with IT policies.Setup of penetration testing, investigating and resolving issues identified.Monitor and analyze broadcast trafficUpdate data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases.The configuration of routing and switching equipment.Maintain a user help desk, Zendesk.Office 365 Application support. Azure, MFATraining Users on how to utilize their computer systems.Assist with LAN/WAN technologies, networks, virus protection, Wi-Fi technology and more.iSeries and ERP support
Qualifications:
- O365 knowledge.Expertise in network security technologies (firewalls, VPN’s, intrusion detection/prevention systems).Understanding of common cyber threats (malware, phishing, ransomware).Ability to solve problems in stressful situations.Ability to prioritize multiple projects and maintain strict deadlinesStrong attention to detail and communication skillsExceptional organizational skillsThe ability to collaborate within a team.The ability to take the initiative and be self-motivated.Expertise programming Aruba Switches, Dell Sonic Walls, Meraki Access Points.Familiarity TCP/IP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols.Experience in the support and management of windows servers.Knowledge of ERP systems.Knowledge of iSeries commands and protocol.
Additional Requirements:
- Willing to participate in after-hours system monitoring and on-call coverage as required.Willing to implement critical patches on production system after hours.Willing to work on weekends when necessary to minimize business impact.Ensures accuracy in system configs and demonstrates attention to detail by delivering error-free work.Produce accurate records, reports, and documentation by verifying information and correcting discrepancies.Consistently meets deadlines, follows through on commitments, and can be relied upon to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.Experience using RMM Tools (Preferably Kaseya)Penetration Testing as part of security monitoring dutiesMicrosoft Windows Server AD and Azure/Entra AADDNS Filtering (Preferably Cisco Umbrella)Familiarity with backup methodologies and appliances (Preferably Datto, Unitrends, Carbonite, etc.)Familiarity with EDR / XDR / MDR technologies and methodologies
This role is designed as a transitional position. The successful candidate will initially serve as Network Administrator, overseeing day-to-day infrastructure operations. Over time, responsibilities will expand to include strategic planning, budgeting, and leadership functions aligned with the IT Director role.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and 8+ years of relevant experience.Experience managing hybrid environments.CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and any Microsoft Server Hybrid certs are all a PlusHands-on experience with:FirewallsConditional Access & MFAEndpoint security (EDR/XDR)Identity & access managementBackup & disaster recovery planningIncident response.
