Manufacturing Estimator in Tempe, Arizona at Foresight Technologies

Job description

The Foresight team is looking for estimators to support our quoting of contract-manufactured products for aerospace and semiconductor. This position requires a person who is familiar with multiple manufacturing methods and has the ability to comprehend and account for all steps involved in a process.

Responsibilities

• Review all incoming quote requests and provide quotations in a timely manner
• Developing a process plan to produce products in a cost-effective manner that includes setup time, run time, and expected yield.
• Determine materials required and vendor selection for raw materials and OEM parts.
• Determine appropriate lead time based on requirements and company guidelines.
• Participate weekly in NPI process with a cross-functional team
• Establish machining/welding/assembly process plans that align with the capabilities of the facility
• Determine profitability (Analyze expected profitability on quotes and actual profitability on existing jobs)

Experience & Skills

• 5 years’ experience with planning or estimating machined components for semiconductor and aerospace ·(travelers/MOTs for Plastics/Common Metals/Specialty metal)
• Experience in a standardized MRP/ERP system (Jobboss).
• 5 years’ experience with Solidworks/Mastercam (Cad/Cam) machining/programming.
• Knowledge of plastics and how they react to processing (machining/fabrication/welding)
• Proven experience with the interpretation of customer drawings & specifications (Aerospace & Semiconductor)
• Experience negotiating the best pricing with suppliers
• Excellent understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14.5
• Advanced user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access
• The ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and concretely in writing in a professional setting.
