Quality Technician I in North Little Rock, Arkansas at Lafferty Equipment Manufacturing, Inc.

The Quality Technician I supports quality control operations through inspection, testing, and documentation activities to ensure all products meet customer and company standards. This entry-level role is responsible for performing routine inspections, recording test data, and maintaining compliance with established quality procedures. The Quality Technician I works closely with production and engineering teams to identify and communicate quality issues while developing foundational skills in inspection techniques and continuous improvement practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished goods to verify compliance with specifications.
• Use inspection tools and measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and test equipment.
• Record inspection and test data accurately in accordance with company documentation procedures.
• Identify and report nonconforming materials or components to the Quality Manager or Production Lead.
• Maintain inspection records, quality logs, and other documentation to ensure traceability.
• Support containment and sorting activities as directed by the Quality team.
• Assist with calibration and maintenance of inspection tools and measurement equipment.
• Follow established quality procedures, work instructions, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

• 1-3 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control roles within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Experience with quality inspection techniques and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, or other quality management system standard.
• Familiarity with measuring equipment and basic inspection methods.

QUALIFICATIONS / PRIOR EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in quality or manufacturing preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Frequently: Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds.
• Intermittently: Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently: Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and performing repetitive physical inspection tasks.
• Frequently: Manual dexterity and visual acuity for detailed inspection work.
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
