Role: Sanitation Team Member
They lead in maintaining a safe and sanitary food service environment while upholding the core values of S.W.E.E.T. and its mission of promoting brand integrity and quality. Members of the sanitation team play a crucial role withing the facility, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards and contributing to the overall efficiency of operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Following all workplace and food safety policies and procedures (Good Manufacturing Practices) related to sanitation and cleaning
- Cleaning and sanitizing food processing equipment and utensils using a 3 compartment sink and a ware-washing machine using approved chemicals
- Maintaining the interior and exterior of the physical plant in a food safe and sanitary condition.
- Collecting waste from food production areas frequently
- Maintain floors using brooms, mops and a floor cleaning machine
- Maintain all cleaning equipment in working and sanitary condition
- Maintaining accurate sanitation documentation including checklists and ensuring completion of the master sanitation schedule
- Refilling supplies in restrooms and in the facility as needed.
- Light office cleaning
- Reporting equipment damage and safety issues to management immediately

Work Requirements and Physical Demands
- Stand for a minimum of 8 hours
- Can lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to work in cold rooms as required, including walk-in freezers, and coolers/chillers.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, active listening ability and visual acuity
- Use of a ladder may be required
- Use of approved chemicals required
- Continuous cross function communication with coworkers and management.
- Able to interpret visual aids, one-point lessons (OPL), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Process and Procedures (P&P), and quality and safety standards
- Requires manual skills to use and operate all necessary equipment
Qualifications & Ingredients for Success
- Prior sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment a plus.
- Must be highly motivated with a positive attitude and must be a hands-on individual
- Must be able to work with a diverse group of individuals on the production floor
- Follows all policies, procedures, and takes constructive feedback for personal development
- Possess good time management skills
- Able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
