Maintenance Technician I

Summary:

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment used in the production process at Giti Tire Mfg. This role works closely with the production team to resolve issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure maximum equipment uptime. Success in this role requires attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including inspections, adjustments, and repairs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled systems to identify and resolve issues.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production line emergencies.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed and parts used.
• Collaborate with production teams to optimize equipment performance and ensure safety.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and 5S principles.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification in a related field preferred.
• Prior experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and PLC systems.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand/walk/move about specific work area
• Bend/reach/twist/stoop
• Lift to 50+ lbs. on a frequent basis
