Position Summary

The Senior Contracts Manager is responsible for leading cradle‑to‑grave contract management activities for complex Aerospace & Defense, Manufacturing, and Information Technology federal government contracts, subcontracts, and modifications. This role ensures full compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), agency supplements, and company policies. The Senior Contract Manager partners closely with program management, finance, capture, procurement, and legal to support proposal development, contract execution, risk mitigation, and strategic business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of government contracts, including RFP analysis, proposal support, negotiation, award, administration, modification, and closeout.
  • Interpret and apply the FAR, DFARS, and other agency-specific regulatory requirements.
  • Lead negotiations with government contracting officers and prime contractors on terms, conditions, pricing, and contractual obligations.
  • Prepare, review, negotiate and finalize contractual documents including but not limited to NDAs, MSAs, T&Cs, subcontracts, purchase orders, modifications, OCI mitigation plans, and contract correspondence.
  • Provide contract guidance to internal stakeholders on compliance requirements, performance risks, funding constraints, and contractual rights.
  • Identify and escalate contract risks; recommend mitigation strategies to leadership.
  • Support proposal efforts, including development of cost/price volumes, compliance matrices, representations and certifications, and subcontractor flowdowns.
  • Manage and coordinate contractual reporting requirements.
  • Ensure internal contract files are complete, audit‑ready, and compliant with company policy and DCMA/DCAA expectations.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contract managers, providing training and oversight.
  • Participate in internal process improvement initiatives to enhance contract operations and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of the FAR, DFARS, and federal procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating terms and conditions and managing complex CPFF, FFP, T&M, and IDIQ contracts.
  • Ability to interpret legal and contractual language and provide actionable guidance.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical capability, and organizational discipline.
  • Proficiency with contract management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Skills

  • Master’s degree or MBA.
  • NCMA certification (CPCM, CFCM, or CCCM).
  • Experience supporting DoD, DHS, or other major federal agencies.
  • Working knowledge of export controls (ITAR/EAR) and cybersecurity requirements (NIST 800‑171, CMMC).
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain one.

Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in government contract management.

Education

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Management or related field

The pay range reflects the expected base salary for this position. Final compensation will be based on role, level, skills, experience, and geographic location.
