Material Handler in Houston, Texas at INTERGLASS CORP

Summary: Receives, stores, and distributes products within the warehouse.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reads customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
• Marks materials with identifying information.
• Opens crates and other containers.
• Coordinate warehouse activities with warehouse leader and office teams.
• Crosstrain in all facets of the warehouse and potentially other departments.
• Complete general housekeeping duties to maintain a continuously safe and clean work environment.
• Maintain a strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• Education: High school education.
• Forklift Certification
• Attention to detail
• Forklift operation

Work Environment:

• Employee must lift up to 50 lbs., moderate noise level and temperature, requires good vision and hearing.
