SR Manager-SOX Compliance in The Woodlands, Texas at Sterling Construction Company, Inc.

What you’ll do

• • Lead a team responsible for SOX walkthroughs, testing, and documentation
  • Work directly with Finance, Operations, and IT to strengthen controls in real operating environments
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and inefficiencies—and drive practical solutions
  • Partner with control owners on solutions that enhance controls, but still support effective and efficient operations.
  • Help evolve the control framework so it can scale with a growing organization

What this role is not

• • To be a caretaker of an environment where everything is already standardized and running smoothly
  • A role where you can stay behind the scenes and just execute testing

What we’re looking for

• 8+ years in SOX, internal audit, or public accounting
• Strong working knowledge of ICFR, COSO and US GAAP
• Proven ability to work through decentralized environments
• Someone who can educate and challenge control owners, influence leaders, and drive change
• Comfortable being both strategic and hands-on (you’ll be doing both)
• CPA or CIA preferred
