Pitt EDGE is the University of Pittsburgh’s central hub for digital education, housed within the Office of the Provost. This inaugural Center advances the University’s strategic vision for online, hybrid, and continuing education by partnering with Pitt’s 16 schools to expand access and improve quality for diverse learners. Pitt EDGE supports the full lifecycle of digital learning through services such as instructional design, technology integration, market analysis, academic planning, recruitment, and quality assurance.
We are seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Graduate Student Recruitment Specialist to join the recruitment team. In this role, you will serve as a welcoming first point of contact for prospective graduate students — introducing them to our university, guiding them through the inquiry process, and connecting them with the resources and people they need to take the next step in their academic journey. You will represent the university at recruitment events across our Oakland campus and regional campuses, embodying what it truly means to be part of our community and inspiring others to join it.
Represents the University in new student recruitment and participates in the evaluation of applicants. Participates in recruitment activities and projects, both in and out of state.
Essential Functions
• Represent the university at graduate fairs, information sessions, conferences, and on-campus events.
• Travel throughout the Western Pennsylvania region to recruit prospective graduate students, including visits to undergraduate institutions, local graduate school fairs and events. May travel out of state as needed.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective students through proactive outreach, follow-up communications, and relationship management.
• Collaborate with graduate schools to align recruitment efforts with program goals and enrollment targets.
• Help prospective students identify programs that align with their academic and professional goals.
• Create and deliver compelling presentations, webinars, and virtual information sessions for domestic and international audiences.
• Assist in the planning and execution of on-campus recruitment events.
• Support and assist in the coordination of a Graduate Ambassador Program.
• Assist in designing and maintaining a graduate-specific campus tour experience that highlights academic facilities, research opportunities, graduate student life, and community resources.
• Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and recommend improvements.
• Maintains basic knowledge of University of Pittsburgh graduate programs.
• Working hours may include evenings and weekends..
• Additional duties as assigned.
Physical Effort
Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and work with computing technology. This position involves extensive screen time. When traveling, the position will require the ability to drive, sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, and the ability to lift, carry, or transport boxes and/or or briefcases ranging from 20-50 pounds
