Truck MechanicThe Truck Mechanicensures a safe, organized, efficient and productive operation in the areas of the facility and Customer Service Center (CSC) in accordance with LSG Sky Chefs and local regulations. The individual is responsible for ensuring all repairs and preventative maintenance tasks and work orders are completed according to the manufacturer's specifications and/or companys guidelines. He/she is fully committed to quality, excellence, delivering superior service through a progressive approach to people, technology and processes.Job ResponsibilitiesThis role is responsible for performing routine fleet maintenance tasks; tasks in industrial maintenance or electro-mechanical fields. Inspects fleet equipment to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repairs, making notes and recommendations using checklist logs. Performs fleet maintenance duties to include but not be limited to inspections, minor repairs, add/or replacement of (e.g. bulbs, fuses, fluids, plates. licenses, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.This role isadditionallyresponsible foraddressing and resolving maintenance issues that occur in dailyoperations for the fleet equipment. All tasks are to be completed in a timely manner in order tominimize the impact to operations. He/she will ensure properfunctioning and will conduct routine preventative maintenance processes and safety checks. Additionally, he/she performs other work-related duties as assigned. Provide safe and reliable vehicles upon completion of inspections, repairs and/or preventative maintenance. Complete preventative maintenance, diagnose, and repair fleet of equipment including: straight trucks, vans, pick-ups, cars,and fork-lifts. Perform minor repairs and adjustments to various operating systems on the vehicles, equipment or related components Ensure all safety devices on vehicles are in good working order Professional interaction with internal and external employees and customers Maintain accurate records/logs (time, repair orders and parts usage) on computer Ensures that proper testing has been completed before returning equipment to production. Working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems. Ensures fleet equipment is operational and systems are ready for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; maintaining maintenance records; following policies and procedures; completing repairs and installing replacement parts; reporting needed changes Able to deal with difficult situations, resolve issues and concerns in a professional manner Work and accomplish tasks in a stressful, fast-paced environment Performs preventive maintenance inspections and ensures the timely and effective repair of any problems identified during an inspection. Inspects the quality of outside/supplier repairs. Must be capable of standing, walking, bending, stooping kneeling, crouching, crawling or climbing ladders for an extended period of time. Lift up to 50 Lbs., Push/Pull up To 75 Lbs. and the ability to work at heights Conduct and document regular fleet inspections (i.e.; daily, weekly, monthly). Able to deal with difficult situations, resolve issues and concerns in a professional manner with respect and trust. Work and accomplish tasks in a stressful, fast-paced environment Must follow all LSG Sky Chefs GMPs and work consistent with all food and personnel safety, quality, sanitation and health requirements. Perform road test and service calls for emergency breakdowns Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus in day & night environments. Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Job Requirements Must be able to work flexible hours Knowledge of basic electricity and mechanical systems Must have a CDL class license or be able toobtain one in 60 days (LSG can help you obtain a CDL 'B' in-house at no cost to you). Must have previous work or educational experience in fleet or trucks or automotive maintenance/training experience. Experience to diagnose and troubleshoot fleet issues; possess problem solving skills Capability to read, understand, and work from equipment manuals, blueprints, specifications, and schematic Ability to follow directions and be careful about detail Experience to diagnose and troubleshoot fleet issues; possess problem solving skills Capability to operate both powered and manual hand tools Ability to perform individual and group projects as assigned Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively and read and write in English Ensure all departmental logs are properly maintained Basic computer skills & use of Microsoft programs, Word, Excel and OutlookBenefits:
