About this Opportunity:
This position assists with day-to-day activities throughout the department and manages workflow in conjunction with the Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates tasks based on daily assignments; makes staffing task adjustments as needed.
- If certified, train operators using TWI methodology as requested/required.
- Ability to operate equipment and fill in when needed.
- Perform inventory as required.
- Monitor and manage inventory supply.
- Ensure product ID and traceability is maintained by accurately filling out required paperwork (Followers, Inspection Ticket, etc.). Monitor and champion production goals to all employees.
- Participate in problem solving activities.
- Recognizes potential production problems as they occur and attempts corrective action, if applicable, work with Supervisors, Operators and/or Tool Room Engineers, QC, etc. personnel to resolve problems.
- Participate in/facilitate delivery meetings or discussions as required. In conjunction with supervisor, Group Lead may be responsible for; Communicating Equipment status and turnover information to alternate shift and/or assisting operators with any problems and/or ensuring shift turnover sheet is filled out correctly.
- Maintain an organized, clean and safe work environment by following 6S standards.
- Properly follow all H&M procedures and policies.
- Use and enforce the use of correct P.P.E. per JHAs and Job Descriptions. If safety shoes are required (Finishing), they must be rated F2412 and F2413.
- Leads and participates in continuous improvement activities, including the Idea System.
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- Able to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
- High School Diploma, Technical School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
- Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group situations with other employees.
- Ability to do basic math in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to lead and participate in problem solving groups.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to work overtime and Saturdays on an as needed basis.
