In this role, you will leverage your advanced expertise in quality assurance practices, healthcare workflows, API testing, and data integration processing to lead complex testing initiatives and drive quality improvements across our medical billing software serving both Workers Compensation and Auto lines of business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead comprehensive testing strategies for Workers Compensation and Auto medical bill review workflows, complex fee schedule calculations, and multi-state regulatory compliance across both lines of business
  • Design and execute advanced test scenarios for data integration processes including inbound and outbound data feeds, file-based exchanges, and real-time system-to-system connectivity
  • Architect and validate sophisticated API integration testing for real-time medical provider data exchange, eligibility verification systems, and claims processing workflows across Workers Compensation and Auto medical billing
  • Lead data integration testing initiatives including structured file processing (CSV, XML, JSON, flat file), data transformation validation, and end-to-end transaction processing across multiple trading partners
  • Develop innovative test methodologies and standards for medical billing validation, complex CPT/ICD coding scenarios, API endpoint performance optimization, and data integration compliance validation
  • Drive integration testing with medical provider networks, pharmacy benefit management systems, third-party review services, and external partners through API and file-based data channels
  • Lead root cause analysis for complex defects in medical billing calculations, data transformation workflows, API response handling, and integration transaction processing
  • Ensure compliance testing for multi-state Workers Compensation and Auto fee schedules, medical treatment guidelines, data exchange standards, and evolving regulatory requirements specific to each line of business
  • Design and implement advanced API security testing protocols, authentication mechanisms, and data encryption validation for healthcare information exchange
  • Lead data integration acknowledgment processing validation, error handling optimization, and transaction retry logic for complex medical bill submission scenarios
  • Create comprehensive product evaluation reports and testing documentation that drives strategic decisions for medical billing accuracy, API performance enhancement, and data integration reliability
  • Mentor junior QA team members and serve as informal team leader for complex testing initiatives
  • Proactively identify systemic issues in medical bill review algorithms, API architecture, and data integration frameworks
  • Collaborate with development engineers, subject matter experts, and product managers to resolve complex problems and drive architectural improvements in workflow automation
  • Lead code/design reviews for healthcare-specific features, API specifications, and data integration implementation standards
  • Validate billing logic and fee schedule accuracy across both Workers Compensation and Auto jurisdictions, ensuring proper handling of line-of-business-specific rules and exceptions

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 4-6 years of software quality assurance experience with demonstrated expertise in healthcare, medical billing, Workers Compensation, or Auto insurance systems
  • Advanced API Testing: Expert-level experience testing REST/SOAP APIs, complex JSON/XML data transformations, microservices architectures, and web services integration using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or REST Assured
  • Database & SQL: Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries for data validation, test data setup, and backend verification across relational databases
  • Test Automation: Technically capable of creating and maintaining automated tests using AI-assisted development tools; able to understand test scripts, troubleshoot failures, and extend existing automation — deep software engineering experience is not required, but comfort working with code and a willingness to learn is essential
  • Data Integration Expertise: Deep understanding of data integration patterns, structured file processing (CSV, XML, JSON, flat file), data transformation validation, transaction processing optimization, and compliance validation across multiple trading partners
  • Healthcare Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of medical billing processes, CPT/ICD coding complexities, and casualty insurance medical management across Workers Compensation and Auto lines of business

  • Test Management: Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, qTest, or TestRail
  • Leadership: Experience serving as informal team leader and mentoring junior QA professionals
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to understand implications of testing work and make strategic recommendations for quality improvements
