The Role
The primary responsibility of the Quality Control Inspector is to perform inspections to ensure parts meet blueprint specifications and quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- In-process Inspection
- Use hand inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) to evaluate whether parts meet blueprint specifications
- Perform visual inspections between operations to identify defects or damage
- Inspect processed parts, including copper plating, chem film, electroform, and similar metal finishes
- Record dimensions and inspection results directly on blueprints in accordance with requirements
- Support first piece / first article inspections for the machine shop
- Perform inspections based on Planning department priorities and required completion dates
- Ensure consistent part quality and compliance with aerospace standards through accurate inspection and documentation
- Support on-time delivery by aligning inspection priorities with Planning schedules and production needs
- MRB Process
- Create non-conformance reports (NCRs) for parts requiring MRB disposition
- Route nonconforming parts to MRB and document issues clearly for investigation and corrective action
- Improve overall shop efficiency by identifying defects early and clearly documenting issues for MRB and corrective action

Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and comprehend mechanical blueprints (training provided for entry-level candidates)
- Basic understanding of GD&T, preferred but not required.
- Willingness to learn required
- High attention to detail
- Basic computer skills (ability to read, write, and enter data)
- Strong willingness to learn and work in quality-drive, aerospace environment
- Prior exposure to manufacturing, machining, or inspection preferred
- Familiarity with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Awareness of aerospace quality standards (AS9100 or similar) preferred but not required
- Must provide proof of US Citizenship or Permanent Residency to comply with ITAR regulations
- Ability to pass a drug screen per Vitesse’s drug testing policy
- Ability to pass a criminal background check per Vitesse’s policy
Vitesse Systems, LLC performs work controlled by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These statutes require the protection of technical data and products. The regulations require that such data not be disclosed in written, oral, or visual form to any foreign national without prior export authorization from the Department of State. A foreign national is defined by the U.S. Government under EAR 734.2(b)(2)(ii) and 8 USC 110 (a)(20) as one who:

- Is not lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the U.S.
- Does not have politically protected status (embassy, refugee, or asylum)
Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30 pm with 30 minute lunch
