Job Title: Patient Services Assistant – Eye Clinic

Department: Eye Clinic

Reports to: Eye Clinic Supervisor

Classification: Regular, Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Work location: Onsite

Salary Range: $32,527 - $38,267

Job Summary:

Serves as the initial focal point of the patient experience. Responsible for answering and routing calls, scheduling appointments.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Schedule patients for appointments
  • Verifying patient information in the health record system
  • Verify medical insurance and/or determines patient eligibility
  • Collecting and filing demographic information and collecting fees due for services rendered
  • Registering patients for provider visits
  • Follow office protocols for patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • High level of organizational skill.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service and the ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
  • Proficient in using computers and basic office equipment.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems is preferred.
  • Good oral/written communication skills

Education and Experience:

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Associate's degree or Certification: Education or certification in a relevant field is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience is preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

Work is mostly sedentary in nature although walking throughout clinical and building spaces on multiple floors. Requires some amount of computer work and hand dexterity.
