Job Title: Patient Services Assistant – Eye Clinic
Department: Eye Clinic
Reports to: Eye Clinic Supervisor
Classification: Regular, Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
Work location: Onsite
Salary Range: $32,527 - $38,267
Job Summary:
Serves as the initial focal point of the patient experience. Responsible for answering and routing calls, scheduling appointments.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Schedule patients for appointments
- Verifying patient information in the health record system
- Verify medical insurance and/or determines patient eligibility
- Collecting and filing demographic information and collecting fees due for services rendered
- Registering patients for provider visits
- Follow office protocols for patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- High level of organizational skill.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service and the ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
- Proficient in using computers and basic office equipment.
- Experience with electronic health record systems is preferred.
- Good oral/written communication skills
Education and Experience:
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Associate's degree or Certification: Education or certification in a relevant field is preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience is preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Work is mostly sedentary in nature although walking throughout clinical and building spaces on multiple floors. Requires some amount of computer work and hand dexterity.
