About This Position

Position Summary

Oversee Quality calibration system to ensure proper administration of quality policies, processes, programs and procedures. Communicate gage quality and quality problems. Provide training on gage calibration work instructions and procedures. Promotes positive Team relation activities and leads as an example of Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain expectations and performance standards.

Essential Functions

Corporate:

  • Adheres to the Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain (HTGP) policies and procedures and leads others in same.
  • Learns, demonstrates and upholds HTGP Core Values.
  • Complies with all HTGP Certification standards; Management System (IATF 16949), Environmental ISO 14001 and Health and Safety ISO 45001 policies and procedures
  • Treats all HTGP team members with respect and professional courtesy
  • Always strives to maintain a positive work environment
  • Performs special assignments as required by management.

EHS:

  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
  • Complies with all safety policies and 5S clean philosophy to maintain a safe, clean working environment
  • Consistently meets company safety goals.

Technical:

  • Assures gages are calibrated and operating within accuracy specifications.
  • Assist quality management team to implement an effective gage calibration system.
  • Develops, maintains and trains on gage calibration process to meet internal and external customer requirements.
  • Reviews calibration due list, records and reports for discrepancies and correct any issues found promptly.
  • Works closely with quality team and manufacturing to resolve gage issues with parts, materials, tooling and processes affecting quality.
  • Develops and maintains quality calibrating equipment SOP’s and work instructions.
  • Manages, performs and improves gage calibration system including gage R&R requirements.
  • Develops and maintains programs for verification of measuring equipment
  • Setups and maintains SPC system for quality measuring equipment and gages.
  • Reviews and verifies contractor calibration documents for accuracy and fulfill requirements.

Leadership:

  • Works with quality team to implement the gage calibration management system.
  • Develops a plant wide awareness of the importance of gage calibration, process training and skill development.
  • Assists in any special project assigned to quality department.
  • Promotes a positive workplace
  • Develops, maintains and trains all quality team members in use of quality measuring equipment.
  • Facilitates quality meetings as needed.
  • Supports all IATF 16949 activities and internal and external audits.
  • Meets all other requirements as assigned.

Education

  • High School/GED
  • 4 Year Degree (Preferred) or comparable background of work related experience

  • Reports to: Department Manager or designee

Physical demands in a manufacturing environment may also, at times, include safely handling various parts and / or handling the parts flow in and out of manufacturing operations work areas which requires pushing and pulling of carts. Work environment is climate controlled in most areas.

Position Requirements and Qualifications

  • 2 – 5 years job related experience preferred
