About This Position

The construction manager leads, plans, and coordinates activities pertaining to the construction and maintenance of solar projects in accordance with company policies and governmental regulations.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Organizes, plans, directs, coordinates, and reports onsite construction activities under the pillars of Safety, Schedule and Cost.

2. Assure compliance with Company safety policies and OSHA, NFPA 70eand/or MSHA safety standards.

3. Works with the Project Management team on the construction effort from estimating, management, and scheduling.

4. Manages all subcontractors for timely completion, quality; ensures the project is built according to design plans, specifications, schedule, quality standards, and budget.

5. Directs and supervises field personnel with daily schedules including people, equipment, materials, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.

6. Works with the Regional Construction Manager and foremen to manage all field crew personnel

7. Negotiates pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to fall within industry market pricing and provides competitive customer bids.

8. Reads, interprets, and understands all project documentation such as insurance, permitting, and project scheduling.

9. Works with foremen to enter and approve labor hours onsite.

10. Makes daily updates to current project schedules via Gantt charts and Smart Sheets.

11. Documents delays/changes; sets up staging areas as needed.

12. Maintain, document, and monitor quality standards.

13. Report to the management team all projects progress, new issues, resolutions, and budget and schedule compliance on a consistent basis.

14. Act as a trouble shooter on current projects.

15. Seek cost savings through vendor negotiations, market analysis, and eliminating waste.

16. Provide daily reports to leadership.

17. Inventory project materials.

18. Work with ACMs to:

a. Upload Safety, QC, daily reports, incidents, and testing documents to project folders in Procore.

b. Maintain trailer needs – safety, material, cleanliness, plans.

c. Ensure rentals on site are being maintained properly.

19. Maintain a culture of continuous improvement and problem solving.

20. Other duties as assigned.
