Summary/objective

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Contact Eligibility Specialist to join our team. This role involves placing orders, verifying insurance coverage, maintaining inventory, and providing exceptional service related to contact lens needs. Essential functions

• Place and track contact lens orders through various vendors
• Communicate with patients regarding order status, pick-up, and delivery
• Check patient insurance eligibility and verify contact lens coverage
• Verify prescriptions and ensure order accuracy
• Maintain inventory of trial lenses and supplies
• Coordinate with physicians and clinical staff for updated prescriptions or special orders
• Handle returns, exchanges, and resolve order issues with vendors
• Provide excellent customer service in-person and over the phone

Required education and experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience in a medical office, healthcare administration, or customer service role.
• Proficiency in basic office software.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication and organizational skills to manage patient interactions and administrative tasks.
• Comfortable working with electronic health records and office software
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Preferred education and experience

• Familiarity with contact lens brands, types, and ordering systems a plus.
• 2+ years of experience in a medical office or ophthalmology practice.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-location healthcare setting.
