About This Position

POSITION SUMMARY

A Clinical Navigator Outreach (PRN) is an athletic trainer responsible for assisting Sano’s outreach opportunities in providing comprehensive care to athletes, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation. Working closely with the coaching staff, medical professionals, and team management, the AT ensures player health and performance are optimized. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of sports medicine, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that includes nontraditional hours.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

  • Ability to work on an as-needed, per-diem basis, adapting to various schedules and environments.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide immediate on-field care for athletic injuries during practices, games, and training sessions.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other medical personnel for injury diagnosis and treatment plans.
  • Assist with return-to-play decisions and ensure safe participation in activities.
  • Perform taping, bracing, and other preventive measures to reduce the risk of injuries.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of injuries, treatments, and player progress.
  • Communicate athlete status and plan to the appropriate coaches and administrators.
  • Educate athletes, coaches and key personnel on injury prevention.
  • Stay current with best practices, certifications, and industry advancements in athletic training and sports medicine.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, policies, and guidelines.
  • Additional duties as assigned

SKILLS

  • Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
  • Strong knowledge of injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation techniques.
  • Proficiency in taping, bracing, and therapeutic exercise programs.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with athletes, coaches, and medical professionals.
  • Ability to educate individuals on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and overall wellness.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist in physically demanding situations.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with industry trends and certifications.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Athletic Training Required
  • Certified Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification, Inc. (ATC) or applicable accrediting body
  • State Licensed (or eligible for License in MO and KS) if applicable
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
