Summary:
The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining the company’s financial integrity by managing daily cash processes, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting both month-end and year-end closings. This position requires strong technical skills and a focus on accuracy, as well as the ability to improve the efficiency of financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate accounting records and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare and analyze journal entries, assist in month-end and year-end closings, and manage prepaids and accruals.
  • Reconcile general ledger data with various sub-ledgers and systems, ensuring accuracy.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and cash reports for management as needed.
  • Work with payment processing to resolve discrepancies and variances.
  • Support internal control and SOX compliance by adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Manage daily cash reconciliations and maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Assist with post-close analysis and research items as instructed.
  • Support the commercial and lease portfolio, including the management of GAP/Auxiliary prepayments.
  • Participate in quarterly reporting and assist with compiling PBC schedules.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within financial reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in accounting, payment processing, or a related field.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to collect, research, and analyze data effectively.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present data clearly.
    • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
    • Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with financial systems is a plus.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
