About This Position

Our primary teams are Surgical Oncology, General Surgery, Gynecology Oncology, and Radiation Oncology. We collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary health care team to provide exceptional care for our patients.
Our unit has 32 private beds and provides care patients who require Positive Pressure Isolation or Negative Pressure Isolation. In addition, we support the Hepatic Arterial Infusion Pump program.
Patient Populations:
- Surgical Oncology: Whipples, liver resections
- General Surgery: Esophagectomies, colon resections, and whipples
- Gynecology Oncology, TAH BSO, lap hysterectomy, chemotherapy
- Radiation Oncology: I-131
Responsible for operational, quality, human resources, financial, strategic, and clinical management of the Adult Surgical Oncology Unit under the direction of the Unit Nurse Manager.
- Works cooperatively and supportively with all staff and interdisciplinary team members to provide high patient satisfaction, quality, and safe care for the patients.
- Maintains clinical competency in acute care nursing to provide occasional nursing responsibilities to support daily operations.
- Participates in projects and improvement initiatives in alignment with the Nursing and OHSU priorities and Strategic Plan.
- May be required to attend out of town conferences according to hospital travel and reimbursement policies.
- Subject to computer work for several as needed
- Must be able to deal with competing needs and priorities of internal and external customers, including ensuring safe conditions for patients, families and staff.
- Exercises the ability to implement a flexible schedule to meet operational needs and to create work-life balance.
Responsibilities
- Master’s degree in nursing or a related field
- Previous management experience
- Nurse executive certification
