About the Role:
The Dietary Supervisor at STILLWATER POST-ACUTE, SAND plays a critical role in overseeing the dietary services to ensure the delivery of nutritious, safe, and high-quality meals tailored to the needs of residents and patients. This position is responsible for managing the dietary team, coordinating meal planning, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. The Dietary Supervisor will collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to accommodate special dietary requirements and promote overall wellness. They will also monitor inventory, control food costs, and maintain sanitation standards within the kitchen and dining areas. Ultimately, this role ensures that all dietary operations run smoothly, contributing to the health and satisfaction of those served by the facility.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a dietary or food service environment, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
- Knowledge of nutrition, food safety, and sanitation standards.
- Ability to read and interpret dietary orders and medical instructions.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous supervisor/ cook experience in food service (healthcare of long term care preferred)
- Knowledge of therapeutic and texture-modified diets
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations (Title 22, CMS, Department of Health guidelines)
- Experience with food safety, sanitation, and infection control practices (ServSafe certification preferred)
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and delegate kitchen operations
- Experience in skilled nursing, hospital, or institutional kitchen setting strongly preferred
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead the dietary staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Plan and oversee meal preparation and service to meet nutritional guidelines and individual dietary needs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety regulations, including sanitation standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement special diets for residents with specific medical conditions.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs to maintain budgetary goals.
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and dining areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.
- Maintain accurate records related to dietary services, including menus, food temperatures, and resident preferences.
- Respond to resident and family concerns regarding dietary services promptly and professionally.
Shift Schedule: 11:30AM-8:00PM
Expected days at the facility: Varying Days (at least 1 weekend day)
