Medical Assistant at Advanced Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation LLC – Utica, New York

Total Rehab LLC is searching for an organized, reliable certified Medical Assistant (MA) for its interventional pain management medical practice in Utica, New York. This is a full-time, non-exempt, position. The MA will be cross trained to cover various administrative and clinical tasks within a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, professional and capable of managing their workload and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

· Assist with obtaining applicable authorizations

· Assemble patient charts, requisitions and consent forms

· Update and file medical records and insurance reports

· Assist with the collection and preparation of laboratory specimens, including completion of appropriate paperwork, as permitted by NYS law

· Assist practitioners during routine office visits, outpatient procedures and other physical exams

· Prep exam rooms for clinical procedures and assisting practitioners with patient care

· Monitor and document patient symptoms for practitioners’ review during clinical exams and procedures

· Provide compassionate patient support and care, attention and assistance during office visits

· Other duties as assigned

Qualification:

· Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred

· Medical Assistant Certification preferred

· Medical office experience and terminology preferred

· Prior experience as a procedure technician preferred
