About This Position
Northwest Paper Box is seeking motivated and mechanically inclined individuals, including but not limited to high school graduates and college students interested in pursuing a career in machine maintenance. This is an entry-level position, perfect for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in the industry.
Training Opportunities:
- Mechanical training
- Electrical training
- Safety training for industrial environment
- Welding and fabrication training
- Forklift operations and repair
Shift:
- Monday thru Friday
- Day Shift: 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with the possibility of daily overtime and Saturday work
- Swing Shift (includes $0.50 per hour differential): Monday thru Friday, 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Shift times can be tailored to accommodate college schedules
Compensation:
- Competitive pay based on skill set, $20.00 to $24.00 per hour
- Non-exempt employees are paid weekly

Company Highlights:
Northwest Paper Box (NWPB) was founded in Portland Oregon, in 1953 by Marvin "Van" Van Allen and his wife, Betty, along with William "Bud" Van Allen and his wife Elsie. From the beginning, this family-owned company has been a true family affair, with many family members working here at different times.
Today, the sons of Van and Betty Van Allen, Brad, Rod and John are now the owners and operators. NWPB has provided stable employment for over 80 employees, at any one time. The company's early success was built on specialty setup boxes, and in the late 1980s, NWPB expanded into corrugated boxes.

- Mechanically inclined
- Honest and motivated individuals ready to train and develop skills

Responsibilities:
- Assist lead mechanics with various tasks
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Participate in training programs
Skills Needed:
- Mechanical Aptitude: Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately.;
- Problem Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues.
- Willilngness to Learn: Open to training and acquiring new skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work well with others and assist lead mechanics
- Physical Stamina: Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, liftins and standing for extended periods.
- Safety Awareness: Understanding of safety protocols in an industrial environment.
