Job Summary
Reporting to the Associate Chief Nursing Officer and under direction of the Charge nurse of the unit, provides assistance with nursing care of patients as needed under the direction and supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Nursing care is provided in accordance with the stated philosophy and standards established by the Nursing Services Department and regulatory agencies. Is accountable for the aspects of nursing care they are directed to provide within their scope of practice.
Minimum Qualifications
· Education
o High School diploma or equivalent required.
o Must be currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
· Experience
o Acute care experience preferred.
o At least one medical surgical clinical rotation required
· Licensure and/or Certification
o BLS healthcare provider required.
o Certified Nursing Assistant certification preferred (required to float to TCU).
· Skills
o Ability to take vitals.
o Communication skills.
o Interpersonal skills.
o Excellent customer service skills. o Computer skills.
o Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
o Ability to maintain confidential information.
