About This Position
The Class C Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, professional, and timely delivery of meat and seafood products to our customers. Drivers must maintain DOT compliance, demonstrate strong customer service, and perform deliveries safely in all weather conditions—including the ability to install tire chains when required.
This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and flexibility with varying routes, schedules, and workloads.
Safely operate company vehicles under a valid Class C license, following all DOT and company safety policies.
Conduct and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report mechanical or safety issues promptly.
Deliver products to restaurants, hotels, and commercial accounts across Northern Nevada and surrounding regions.
Navigate and deliver in adverse weather (snow, rain, heat, ice) and chain vehicles when conditions require.
Load and unload product using safe lifting techniques and assistive devices (e.g., dollies, lift gates).
Handle perishable goods in accordance with food safety, sanitation, and temperature-control standards.
Maintain accurate delivery logs, temperature records, and customer invoices.
Provide exceptional customer service—communicating clearly, representing Sierra Meat & Seafood professionally, and resolving delivery issues with care.
Adjust to variable routes, schedules, and workloads to meet business and customer needs.
Follow all company and DOT safety protocols, including hours-of-service and load securement standards.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely on a regular basis; occasional lifting up to 75 lbs using proper ergonomic technique or mechanical assistance.
Frequent standing, walking, climbing in/out of vehicles, and pushing/pulling loaded carts or hand trucks.
Exposure to variable temperatures (freezer, refrigerated, and outdoor environments).
Ability to operate in high-altitude or mountainous conditions.
Valid Class C Driver’s License with a clean MVR.
Must meet all DOT driver qualification requirements, including medical certification and drug/alcohol testing.
Minimum 1 year of commercial or delivery driving experience preferred.
Experience with food or perishable products a plus.
Excellent customer-service, communication, and time-management skills.
Reliable, adaptable, and safety-conscious.
Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Regular exposure to temperature extremes, including refrigerated, frozen, and outdoor environments.
Physical labor—lifting, carrying, and maneuvering products within OSHA-approved weight limits.
Variable hours and routes depending on delivery volume and seasonality.
Operation of vehicles in challenging conditions, including snow and mountain passes.
