  • POSITION SUMMARY
    • The East Alabama Medical Center Interpreter will facilitate communication for limited English proficient (LEP) patients, and family members that serve them in a variety of settings to include medical, educational, financial, insurance, etc. This is an on-call Position, flexibility is required.
  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
    • Minimum Education
      • High School Diploma or equivalent.
      • Successful completion of conversation/translation competency testing in secondary language

    • Minimum Experience
      • fluency in relevant language

    • Required Registration/License/Certification
      • Score High Intermediate on Language Proficiency test prior to interpreting

    • Preferred Education
      • N/A

    • Preferred Experience
      • 2 years healthcare experience
      • previous medical interpreter experience

    • Preferred Registration/License/Certification
      • N/A

    • Other Requirements
      • N/A
