Supply Chain Intern at RIX INDUSTRIES – Sparks, Nevada

RIX Industries is a technology-focused company specializing in the design, development and manufacturing of gas generation systems, precision compressor solutions, and cryogenic cooling technologies for critical applications in Marine, Aerospace, Land, Energy, Industrial, Medical, and Critical Infrastructure markets. Founded in 1878, the company is headquartered in Benicia, CA, and operates additional facilities in Sparks, NV.

Position Summary

The Supply Chain Intern is primarily responsible for expediting purchase orders, collaborating with vendors, and tracking the status of bottlenecks, late deliveries, and outstanding parts.

Responsibilities

• Confirm purchase orders with vendors.
• Contact vendors on late PO’s for updated delivery status.
• Verify upcoming PO delivery dates.
• Follow up on un-confirmed purchase orders that are five or more days old.
• Enter and maintain internal comments on PO’s.
• Expedite PO deliveries, on the bottleneck report as well as exception messages, as required.
• Perform all other duties in the best interest of the company or as directed by the Purchasing Manager and/or Senior Buyers.
• All Other Duties as Assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Senior year college student or recent graduate of a Logistics or Supply Chain Management program through an accredited college.
• Knowledge of logistics, supply chain, and purchasing standard practices.
• Knowledge of MS office tools, good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment under direct supervision.
• Must be able to manage time and complete tasks in a timely fashion.
• Basic Computer skills with the ability to adapt to a variety of software applications. The ability to communicate with others to exchange information both orally and in writing
• Citizenship: U.S. Citizen or qualified U.S. Person in accordance with ALU 22CFR 120.15. May require the ability to obtain DOD security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge or experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge or experience of reading schematics.

Physical Requirements

1. Must have the following physical abilities:

• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, reach, and lift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods at a desk or table as well as machine tools or printers.
