About This Position
Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced heavy civil Project Manager to join our Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of heavy civil projects, from conception to completion. They will collaborate closely with clients, subcontractors, design firms, utility companies, and all stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of heavy civil or heavy highway projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
- Manage direct reports (Superintendents & Project Engineers) to successfully deliver complex heavy civil projects on budget, on schedule, and with the utmost quality.
- Utilize Primavera P6 scheduling software to develop CPM schedules and updates, ensuring projects are executed on time and budget.
- Prepare and present project updates, reports, and financial analyses to senior management and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and all project related stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives.
- Develop and implement project plans, including resource allocation, procurement, and risk management strategies.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or delays, and implement proactive solutions to keep projects on track.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 10-years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects.
- Experience managing heavy civil projects of at least $10M.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction management, heavy civil construction, civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong experience forecasting, projecting, and tracking all project related costs.
- Strong experience in change order management.
- Strong technical proficiency in BlueBeam and Excel.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 scheduling software.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
