About the role

The Tax Manager will be responsible for leading the firm’s tax service line, including preparation and review of tax returns, client advisory, team development, and process improvement. This role will collaborate directly with clients on complex tax issues, supervise and mentor tax staff, and contribute to the overall growth and scalability of our tax function.

What you'll do

• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, businesses, and non-profits.
• Lead tax planning and advisory efforts to minimize client tax liabilities.
• Serve as a primary contact for clients on tax matters and strategy.
• Supervise and train tax team members.
• Conduct performance reviews and lead training initiatives.
• Stay up to date on federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Implement and improve tax processes and quality control measures.
• Ensure all filings meet deadlines and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or EA required.
• Minimum of 5 years of tax experience, including 2+ in a leadership role.
• Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Deep understanding of tax laws and ability to navigate complex scenarios.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with S-Corps, C-Corps, partnerships, and individuals.
• Client-focused mindset with strong relationship management skills.
• Experience growing or scaling a tax function within a firm.
