What is the role of the Grading Division? The Grading Division is in the Construction Group. Our grading crews build the foundations for our projects. Our grading crews will build large commercial sites, widen highways and interstates, and work on special projects including building the new Hugh Leatherman Terminal for the SC Ports Authority.

What is the role of the Asphalt Paving Division? The Asphalt Paving Division is in the Construction Group. Our paving crews place asphalt on our jobs all throughout the low country. Our crews will do anything – commercial/private jobs to interstate jobs.

What is a Technician? This person performs labor operations for a grading or paving crew including shoveling, hand grading, luting asphalt to grade, using power tools, assists with surveying, and assists with other grading crew operators.

What you will get to do:

• Learn all about the grading and paving operations
• Be a part of building large sites, highways, and ports
• Perform ground/labor operations for grading or paving crews
• Assist other personnel in all grading or paving functions
• Be a part of paving parking lots, secondary roads, ports, and interstates
• Lute asphalt to grade
• Shovel asphalt where needed
