Position Description:
The VP, IT Services provides leadership for the IT Team, ensuring technology services are secure, reliable, and aligned with Nutmeg’s strategic priorities. This role is accountable for executing the organization's technology priorities by delivering resilient infrastructure, exceptional technology support, operational cybersecurity, and technology governance that enable employees to serve our members effectively. The VP, IT Services will work collaboratively with executive leadership and business line leaders ensuring that technology investments, projects, and operational services support the strategic direction of the organization.
Essential Functions:- Lead, Manage, and Promote Accountability
- Guide, inspire, and align your team with Nutmeg’s vision by setting a clear direction, aligning resources, and fostering a culture of accountability and trust.
- Organize people (Right People, Right Seats), process, and resources to achieve measurable results. Track performance, facilitate team meetings, and address issues promptly to maintain traction towards goals.
- Own and deliver on roles, responsibilities, and measurable outcomes that support Nutmeg’s vision. Provide clarity and coaching to address performance issues timely. Employ data-driven standards whenever possible. Foster a culture where teammates take ownership of their contributions, report progress, and resolve issues collaboratively.
- Technology Operations and Business Enablement
- Lead the delivery, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise technology services, including infrastructure, end-user technology and help desk operations.
- Ensure the availability, performance, security, and scalability of networks, systems, cloud platforms, databases, and workplace technology.
- Oversee IT service management practices, including incident, problem, and change management, while driving operational efficiencies and service improvements.
- Direct technology lifecycle management, business continuity, and disaster recovery capabilities to support organizational resilience and growth.
- Partner with business leaders to align technology services, operating models, and solutions with strategic and operational objectives.
- Information Security Operations & Technology Risk
- Oversee technology security operations, identity and access management, vulnerability management, and operational cybersecurity controls.
- Maintain incident response, disaster recovery, backup, and recovery programs to ensure organizational resilience and recoverability.
- Manage relationships with security vendors and managed service providers, ensuring compliance with service levels, contractual requirements, and security standards.
- Partner with Enterprise Risk Management to assess technology risks, strengthen IT controls, and support regulatory compliance efforts.
- Ensure timely remediation of audit, examination, and security findings while continuously enhancing technology risk management practices.
- Enterprise Strategy Execution & Technology Delivery
- Execute technology initiatives, projects and departmental priorities that support Nutmeg’s strategic plan, Rocks, and V/TO.
- Provide technology leadership and strategic counsel to executive leadership regarding technology investments, risks, opportunities, and business impacts.
- Lead technology implementation efforts and ensure successful delivery, adoption, and operational readiness of new solutions.
- Align technology resources, capabilities, and investments with enterprise priorities and organizational growth objectives.
- Coordinate cross-functional technology initiatives and measure outcomes to ensure successful execution and business value realization.
- Technology Governance, Vendor Management & Operational Excellence
- Oversee technology governance, operational policies, and standards to ensure regulatory compliance, operational resilience, and sound technology management.
- Manage technology vendors, service providers, contracts, and perform to ensure effective service delivery and value realization.
- Direct technology budgeting, asset management, software licensing, and resource planning activities.
- Support audits, examinations, and governance reviews while ensuring adherence to regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Establish performance metrics and lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance IT operations, service quality, and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications:
Experience, Education & Credentials:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Security, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Minimum of 7 years of information technology and/or information systems experience required, with 3+ years of relevant management experience in a retail bank or credit union environment preferred.
- Experience managing 24x7 network and facilities control operations is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to align technology services to business needs and to mature an IT operating model as an organization scales.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of information systems and technical systems architecture including systems design, integration, and networking in virtual environments.
- Proven understanding of best practices for implementation of availability, redundancy and security processes and procedures.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams or working in a matrixed environment a plus.

- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Requires standing and/or sitting for an extended period of time.
- Travel required between various CT branch locations, as needed. Travel out of state is minimal.
