Duties/Responsibilities:
- Work actively with the Project Manager providing support to Customers in what regards to quality expertise for product and process development.
- Support and participate in the development of the APQP/PPAP documentation for new product launches.
- Analyze engineering drawings/blueprints and GD&T and define the DVP testing plan to be validated by the customer.
- Support product validation activities and coordinate testing as required.
- Review dimensional results and CMM reports to ensure compliance with drawing requirements.
- Review and interpret applicable customer/OEM specifications and quality requirements.
- Work with engineering and all the other departments to develop the Control Plan and work instructions for a new part
- Define the Gauge R&R accuracy and support measurement system requirements.
- Quality improvement activities including inspecting, measuring, reporting, scrap follow up and problem solving
- Lead the PFMEA and coordinate the improvements on the design/process to eliminate the high-risk areas prior to SOP
- Support PPAP submissions and ensure applicable supplier PPAP/PSW approvals are obtained.
- Participate in the quoting process when is required
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- 3+ years in manufacturing environment
- Experience in Engineering, Quality, Product Development or Process Assurance.
- Working knowledge of automotive Core Tools including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA and SPC.
- Working knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T and dimensional inspection.
- Audit experience/certification in IATF/VDA/CQI
Skills:
- The job requires attention to detail in making evaluative judgements based on the analysis of information.
- Competent with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and team-oriented
- Friendly and able to ask questions in a non-confrontational manner
- Demonstrate a positive and professional demeanor throughout Quality Assurance and all departments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and customer requirements.
This is an ONSITE role, remote work is not available.
