Position Summary

The Shipping/Receiving Clerk handles shipping and receiving activities for materials coming into and leaving the facility. This position verifies shipments, prepares items for shipment, maintains accurate records, supports inventory movement, and helps keep production and storage areas clean, safe, and organized.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive finished goods, work-in-process materials, and inbound materials from trucks; tag, record, and put items away properly.
  • Read and follow shipping paperwork, including bills of lading, delivery notes, invoices, orders, and related records.
  • Use ERP software to complete shipping and receiving tasks, including creating packing slips and bills of lading.
  • Read and understand work orders; close jobs and scan/log work orders when needed.
  • Operate a forklift to load and unload trucks and move freight, stock, and materials to and from storage areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, and containers.
  • Work safely on flatbed trailers with stand-up coils.
  • Use a computer to access customer portals and identify shipping requirements.
  • Create, print, and apply labels and barcodes for shipments.
  • Pack products in containers and re-pack products from damaged containers as needed.
  • Install protective materials such as bracing, padding, or strapping to prevent shifting or damage during transportation.
  • Verify inventory counts and support monthly cycle counts.
  • Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Maintain the component rack system by stocking racks, pulling materials for production, and staging materials for delivery.
  • Record inventory movement using a computer system.
  • Keep the component rack area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervision or company management.
  • Work overtime when required.
Minimum Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and demonstrate the ability to speak and read English.

  • Working knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Experience handling, storing, and shipping materials or supplies.
  • Experience operating material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to access and enter information using a computer.
  • RF scan gun experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk continuously during an assigned 8-hour shift.
  • Climb on and off a propane forklift multiple times during the shift.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. through a full range of motion.
  • Bend, kneel, squat, twist, turn, reach above shoulder level, and type or keyboard frequently during the shift.
  • Work in an environment with exposure to a wide range of temperatures.
Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts. Overtime may be required based on business needs.
