This role supports the development and management of clinical study grants across Phase I–IV clinical trials and a broad range of therapeutic areas.
You will prepare accurate, competitive study budgets and contribute to proposals, awarded projects, and post-award financial analysis.
The position combines clinical research knowledge, financial analysis, compliance, negotiation, and client engagement.
You’ll collaborate with Site Contracts Leaders, Study Project Leaders, Project Directors, proposal teams, and other stakeholders to address complex budget requirements.
The role also involves applying fair-market-value principles and relevant healthcare regulations to clinical study grant activities.
It is well suited to an analytical, client-focused professional who can manage multiple priorities while working effectively in a virtual, cross-functional environment.

• Prepare accurate and competitive clinical study grant estimates for Phase I–IV studies using designated clinical study pricing tools, including GrantPlan or equivalent platforms.

• Support the development of budget concepts for pre-sales proposals while ensuring alignment with RFP requirements, internal policies, and client expectations.

• Act as a subject matter expert in the creation, revision, escalation, and approval of clinical study grants for awarded projects.

• Collaborate with Site Contracts Leaders, Study Project Leaders, Project Directors, and proposal teams to develop and maintain study budgets.

• Prepare post-award clinical study grant analyses and provide ongoing budget support to project stakeholders.

• Participate in strategy sessions and budget reviews to assess client requirements, competitive benchmarks, and opportunities to strengthen proposals.

• Ensure grant information and processes comply with Fair Market Value principles, the Physician Payments Sunshine Act, and relevant healthcare compliance requirements.

• Apply knowledge of applicable regulations and guidance, including ICH Guidelines, Good Clinical Practice, HIPAA, FCPA, Safe Harbor provisions, and regulatory agency requirements.

• Maintain client-focused grant analyses to monitor performance, identify potential issues, and support timely resolution.

• Share lessons learned, new scenarios, and best practices with colleagues and contribute to departmental training plans and materials.

• Support process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, change management activities, committees, and task forces as required.

• Complete administrative responsibilities accurately and on time, including timesheets, training, travel expense claims, and other operational requirements.

• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders while promoting teamwork, quality, productivity, and a positive results-oriented environment.

• Implement improvements based on client feedback, team input, quality audits, and evolving business requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in biological science, pharmacy, another health-related discipline, or an equivalent nursing or relevant clinical qualification/experience.

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in clinical site budget development, preferably within a clinical research, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or managed-care environment.

• Hands-on experience with clinical study budget tools such as GrantPlan, Grant Manager, or equivalent platforms.

• Experience using industry benchmarking databases and other tools to support fair-market-value assessments and investigator grant development.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to assess complex situations, identify issues, and develop practical solutions.

• Strong strategic thinking skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to managing challenges and competing priorities.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across functional boundaries and maintain trusted client relationships.

• Demonstrated client-focused approach and the ability to understand business implications and how decisions affect customers.

• Strong negotiation, influencing, organizational, and decision-making skills, with the judgment to escalate matters when appropriate.

• Advanced ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, quality, and attention to detail.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, along with the ability to learn and use clinical research and eClinical systems.

• Familiarity with standard business systems and technologies used within clinical research environments.

• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a distributed or virtual team.

• Strong understanding of applicable clinical research standards, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures.
