Job Description
The Patient Care Tech (PCT) Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination, and evaluation of Patient Care Techs and other assigned unlicensed assistive personnel. The PCT Supervisor promotes safe, compassionate, and quality patient/resident care by ensuring that assigned staff provide care according to organizational policies, procedures, standards of practice, and individual patient/resident care plans.
The PCT Supervisor works collaboratively with Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and other members of the healthcare team to support effective patient/resident care, staffing, communication, and service delivery. The PCT Supervisor is accountable for monitoring staff performance, addressing concerns, promoting competency, and escalating clinical or patient/resident safety concerns to the appropriate licensed nurse.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates for the Patient Care Technician Supervisor position may qualify through either of the following pathways:
- Graduate of a LPN program required. Current LPN unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Louisiana required.
- A minimum of 2 years working as a Patient Care Technician (PCT), along with leadership skills.
- Certified Nursing Assistant in State of Louisiana preferred
Previous Experience:
1. A minimum of two years healthcare experience required.
