Family Circle of Care is a health center that operates seven medical clinics, one dental clinic, and a mobile medical clinic serving the East Texas cities of Tyler, Athens, and Jacksonville and surrounding communities. We provide Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Mental Health Services, Dental Services, and Social Services and Resource Assistance, and have been the leading community health center (also known as a Federally Qualified Health Center or FQHC) in our service area since 2013.

About the Role:

The Patient Services Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless experience for patients at Chapel Hill Clinic.

This position is responsible for managing patient registration and billing processes, which are essential for maintaining accurate patient records and facilitating smooth financial transactions. The representative will serve as the first point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and providing information about services, insurance, and billing. By effectively communicating with patients and healthcare providers, the representative helps to foster a welcoming environment that prioritizes patient care. Ultimately, the goal of this role is to enhance patient satisfaction and streamline administrative operations within the clinic.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in patient registration and billing in a healthcare setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in healthcare administration or a related field.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Manage patient registration processes, ensuring accurate data entry and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Assist patients with billing inquiries, providing clear explanations of charges and payment options.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to verify insurance information and eligibility for services.
  • Utilize FAX machines and other office equipment to communicate with insurance companies and other healthcare providers.
  • Maintain a detail-oriented approach to record-keeping, ensuring all patient information is up-to-date and accurate.

Skills:

  • The required skills of patient registration and billing are utilized daily to ensure that all patient information is accurately captured and processed.
  • Manual dexterity is essential for operating office equipment and handling paperwork efficiently.
  • Attention to detail is critical in maintaining accurate records and addressing billing inquiries, as even minor errors can lead to significant issues.
  • Knowledge of medical insurance and terminology allows the representative to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare providers, ensuring clarity in all interactions.
  • Preferred skills, such as familiarity with healthcare administration, enhance the representative's ability to navigate complex billing scenarios and improve overall patient satisfaction.
